Events: Romeo finds out that Juliet is ‘dead’. He is heartbroken and asks Apothecary for a special poison. This poison will kill Romeo if he drinks it. He decides to go back to Verona and will frink the poison beside Juliets body.
Quote: There is your gold. Money is a worse poison to men’s souls, and commits more murders in this awful world, than these poor poisons that you’re not allowed to sell.

Time: Wednesday morning
Location: Juliets bedroom
Characters: Nurse, Lady Capulet, Capulet, Friar Lawrence, Paris, Musicians and Peter
Events: The Nurse goes to wake Juliet up. She opens her curtain and keeps telling her to get up although Juliet is not moving. The Nurse then realises that Juliet is dead she is speechless. Lady Capulet asks why she is making so much noise and then finds out the bad news. Friar Lawrence and Capulet enter to also hear the bad news. Lady Capulet pretends to care, so does Friar Lawrence as he already knows what is going on. Peter is in grief and asks the musicians to play him music, but the playful banter they were having turned into a fight.

Location: Capulets house
Characters: Capulet, Juliet, Servingman 1 2 3, Nurse, Lady Capulet
Events: Juliet tells her family to go forth with the wedding. Her family are thrilled and decide to bring the wedding closer, so close they want it to be the next day. Later on Juliet persuades the Nurse to let her be tonight and asks the Nurse to not sleep in her room. The Nurse agrees and this meant Juliet could follow through with her plan she decides if the potion doesn’t work she will have a dagger sitting next to her. As night falls and the time has come for Juliet to drink the potion, she starts to procrastinate. She thinks and stumbles upon scenarios that may occur when she wakes up. She worries and worries until she makes the final decision and drinks the potion, making it a toast to Romeo. On Wednesday morning her family is getting ready for the big day. The Nurse gets ordered to go and wake Juliet up.

Events: Paris is telling Friar Lawrence about his arranged marriage. Himself and Capulet plan to hold the wedding on Thursday. As he continues Juliet enter the room. Juliet dosn’t want to marry

Location: Capulets house
Characters: Nurse and Juliet
Events: The Nurse is horrified to tell Juliet the actions of Romeo. The Nurse tells Juliet about Tybalts death and Juliet is devastated yet she chooses to side with her husband (Romeo). As she finds a way to forgive him she also invites him to spend his last night in Verona at her house.
Quote: O, find him! Give this ring to my true knight, and bid him come to take his last farewell.
Act 2, Scene 5 Summary
Act 2 Scene 5:
Location: Capulets House
Time: Midday Monday
Characters: Juliet and Nurse
Events: Juliet is eager to hear the news that the Nurse has got. Although the Nurse is very hesitant to tell Juliet and keeps running of topic. Eventually the news is released to her and she is thrilled and the Nurse explains to her “but you shall bear the burden soon at night”. The Nurse is saying that Juliet now needs to make her own decisions even if they are good or bad. Yet the wedding goes forward and Juliet and Romeo will get married.
Act 2 Scene 4
Act 2 Scene 4:
Location: A street in Verona
Time: Monday morning/midday
Characters: Mercutio, Benvolio, Romeo, Nurse, Peter
Events: Mercutio and Benvolio are bantering and are discussing about Tybalts challenge, and Romeo joins their laughter. Mercutio and Romeo start joking with each other but things start to turn unfriendly, luckily Juliets Nurse comes to find Romeo. Romeo explains how they are going to get married today and the Nurse agrees and says that she is unhappy when Paris is talked about.

Location: Friar Lawrence’s cell
Time: Monday morning
Characters: Romeo and Friar Lawrence
Events: As Friar Lawrence is talking to himself, Romeo hurries in with no time to waste. He insists that he wants to marry Juliet today. Although Friar thinks this is a bad idea because he can still see the tears on his cheeks from when he was so upset about Rosaline. Friar Lawrence also says to Romeo that “Young men’s love then lies, Not truely in their hearts, but in their eyes”. What he is trying to say here is that Romeo doesn’t really love Juliet and that he just thinks that she is gorgeous. Yet eventually Romeo persuades Friar to marry him and Juliet.

Location: Capulets Orchard
Characters: Romeo, Juliet and the Nurse
Events: Romeo is in love with Juliet. Juliet is unaware that Romeo is listening as she sighs about her new love for him. Although she says “or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love, and I’ll no longer be a Capulet.” Juliet is basically saying if she does love Romeo will she lose the Capulet title. Romeo then appears after hearing her words. They talk and talk and then finally say they want to marry one and other.
